I was born and raised in Goldsboro, N.C. and lived in the eastern part of Wayne County for twenty-three years. At age twenty-three I enlisted into the United States Army. Prior to serving my country, I always had a call and burning desire to serve the Lord in the capacity of the full time ministry. God called me as a teenager to preach His Word. My last duty station was in Watertown, N.Y., where I fulfilled my enlistment obligations while serving in the 10th Mountain Division. That is where I met my wife Danette, and have been blessed to be married to her for nineteen years. We were blessed with the duty of parenting our daughter Chloe, who is eighteen years old, as well as our son, Bailey who is fifteen.
My family and I lived in northern N.Y. for twenty years prior to being called to Free Gospel Church (FGC). While living in N.Y., I was ordained as a minister and served as a pastor at a local church in Watertown. During this time as a pastor there, God blessed me with the opportunity to serve in the mission fields of Haiti and Puerto Rico. I currently sit as a member of the board for Team Haiti "4" Jesus.
In 2016 I answered the call from the Lord to move back to Goldsboro, N.C. to pastor FGC. My Family and I are so grateful to be called to FGC to serve as pastor and call this church our home. I personally want to give thanks to the Lord for His call upon my life and would like to thank my family for supporting me in the full time pastoral ministry. The Lord gets all the Glory, Honor, and Praise.
Your brother in the Lord,
Pastor Michael Parks
